Prototypes
Prototypes are made using die casting and have a number of advantages compared to other methods of production.
· Quality equal to production parts
· i.e. you can make test assembly, mechanical tests etc.
· Small tolerances
· Fast tool modifications
· Casting tool can typically be used for qnt up to 15.000 pcs.
· Deliverytime for casting tools typically 3-4 weeks
Preseries
You can get preseries and 0-series made in zinc soft-tools or in mother tools with inserts in order to keep the investment at a minimum without compromising tolerances or quality of the zinc parts. Preseries can typically be from 50 to 10.000 parts and the casting tools can even be used in the start-up phase of real production in order to reduce deliverytime.
The zinc casting tools for preseries have – as with prototypes – the advantage, that fast changes and modifications can be made in accordance with the experiences made during the first casting process. You also have the possibility to let the preseries be part of a real production run in order to reduce the investment over a larger number of parts.
Rapid Prototyping
That is what we call production of single parts in a very short time. Linimatic cooperates with Temponik A/S for delivery of rapid prototypes or very small preseries. Temponik A/S offers a number of casting processes such as Tempocast, Tempoform and Tempotool, each having its own characteristic depending on the design and geometry of the zinc parts in question.
