The little ABZinc

Zinc has a low melting point approx. 400 °C and can be reused and recirculated. That is why diecasted zinc is among the most energy efficient production methods for details with complex geometry, high strength specifications, wish for a high finish in the surface treatment or a wish for a high density.

Economical and durable

The low melting point of zinc assures a long lifetime of the casting tools and thus ensuring production of many zinc details without the tool loosing strenght or accuracy.

With the positive properties of zinc you can cast details without the need for post machining. Thus it is a good investment to use time on the fundamental design of the zinc details, in order to reduce production processes and thereby saving both time and money.

In popular terms zinc has approximately the same strength as trade steel/unalloyed steel at temperatures below 80°C. Zinc is stronger than aluminium at room temperature and compared to plastic the stiffness and stability is significantly better.

High density – low unit weight.

Technically you can – unlike steel - cast zinc details with wall thickness down to 0,5mm. Thereby you can get very light details and at the same time reduce the zinc consumption. An advantageous solution if the cost of the detail must be reduced.
