EMC shielding in the electronics industry

As zinc details are casted all-in-one, you can create the maximum EMC shielding. Weight and price of the detail is minimized – the wall thickness is 0,5 mm.

High finish and surface abrasion resistance

For LK we produce surface coated connectors in diecasted zinc. In addition to a high finish and abrasion resistance the use of zinc assures a maximum EMC shielding.

Extremely high demands for surface finish

We produce a number of items for Bang & Olufsen A/S. Here the demands for surface finish are extremely high. The Beolink remote control is an example produced in diecasted zinc and surface coated with a durable black coating.

Surface coating with compliance to both cosmetic and mechanical tolerances

The DVD drawers in the DVD players of Bang & Olufsen are also made in die casted zinc and surfacecoated with matchrome. The final finish and functionality of the DVD drawers are very important as they are a part of high-end quality products.

The DVD drawers are parts of a mechanical unit, where apart from beeing real beautiful has to comply to a number of tight tolerances. Therefor the units are subject to a comprehensive quality control and marking prior to delivery.

Casting of bearing mount without post machining.

For Linak A/S we cast among others a bearing housing with a bearing mount, which is casted without post machining. Thereby achieving a low unit price as we avoid subsequent costly machining and without impact on the quality. This is a good example of a complicated technical detail with high requirements regarding parallelism, tolerances, strength and EMC shielding.

Also in the production process the demands regarding tolerances and uniformity are high as the bearings should be installed without the need for additional machining of the zinc part. The process is controlled with Statistical Process Control (SPC) assuring the required uniformity in the quality and tolerances.

System delivery with full traceability

For the audio- and videoindustry we cast several parts which are part of a subsystem. The subsystem contains shafts, ball bearings, moulded plastic parts, springs etc. All components are purchased and stocked by Linimatic. We assemble , test and control the subsystem prior to delivery in accordance with the agreed standards. All test results are filed and the parts are marked with barcodes ensuring full traceability.

From molded plastic to die casted zinc in 3 weeks.

Zinc is often used to replace plastic, where the specifications for strength and mechanical properties are high. In connection with the design of a TV-supporting table for flat-screen TV we got a request to replace a plastic part, which during the final test had failed due to lacking mechanical properties when exposed to the loads from large flat-screen TVs. The solution was designed, constructed and put into production within 3 weeks from the first call from the customer. To ensure the quality of the parts, the production was planned to the fully automatic casting cell with a 315 Ton casting machine, and all processes were automated to the benefit of both price and quality.
